Frequently asked questions

Globle is a free daily geography game. A country is hidden on a 3D globe and you have to find it by guessing other countries. Each guess is coloured by its distance to the hidden country, so the colours guide you towards the answer, like hot and cold.

A new country is chosen every day at midnight in your local time zone. The countdown under the globe shows how long is left until the next one.

No. You can guess as many times as you need. Your score is simply the number of guesses it took, and your average is tracked in the statistics.

Globle measures the shortest distance between the borders of the two countries, not between their capitals or centres. Countries that share a border are 0 km apart and are shown in the darkest red.

Pale yellow means far away (thousands of kilometres), orange means close (roughly under 1,500 km), red means very close (under 500 km) and deep red means a shared border. The hidden country turns green when you find it. See the colour guide on the how to play page.

Globle uses 197 countries: the UN member states plus a few widely recognised territories such as Taiwan, Kosovo, Palestine and Vatican City. You can browse all of them on the countries page.

Check the spelling or turn on hints in the settings to pick the name from a list. Common short names work (USA, UK, Holland, DRC, Ivory Coast), and capital letters, accents and hyphens are ignored.
